The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting three states, valid until 3pm on Sunday (June 7).
In Pahang, the affected district is Rompin.
In Johor, the warning covers Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Kota Tinggi.
Meanwhile in Sarawak, severe weather is expected in Sri Aman and Sarikei, as well as several areas in Betong (Pusa, Saratok and Kabong), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu and Dalat), and Miri.
MetMalaysia issues such warnings when thunderstorms with rainfall exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur or persist for more than an hour.
The thunderstorm warning is a short-term alert, typically valid for not more than six hours for any single issuance.
