Three men have pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to charges of robbing a Myanmar national at the Pedas-Linggi Rest and Recreation (R&R) area along the North-South Expressway southbound lane at the end of last month.
The accused — Sabrie Fauzi, 38, a Malaysian, and Myanmar nationals Husson Shorif Koseir, 27, and Mohamad Ekramullah Soyodul, 32 — entered their pleas after the charge was read before Judge Hazeelia Muhammad.
According to the charge, the trio, together with another individual still at large, allegedly committed the robbery against a Myanmar man who holds a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) card.
The group is accused of stealing a Toyota Altis, a Vivo mobile phone, a wristwatch, a wallet containing RM150 in cash, as well as the victim’s UNHCR identification card.
During the alleged incident, the accused are also said to have intentionally caused injury to the victim.
The offence is alleged to have taken place between 8.36pm and 9pm on May 30 at the Pedas-Linggi R&R southbound area.
