Malaysian Actor Denies Drug Claims Of Drug Use After Losing 20kg In Three Months For Film Roles

Date:

Malaysian actor Kodi Rasheed has finally addressed growing speculation surrounding his noticeably slimmer appearance, after some people began questioning whether he was suffering from an illness or involved with illegal substances.

The 35-year-old star, whose full name is Muhammad Shazmeer Mohd Rasheed, said he was surprised by the assumptions made about his health, revealing that concerned friends and members of the public had repeatedly contacted him to ask what was happening.

According to Kodi, some individuals even suggested that his drastic weight loss was linked to drug use. However, he firmly dismissed the allegations, stressing that such claims were completely unfounded and made no sense given the demands of his profession.

“If I were taking drugs, I wouldn’t be able to fulfil my filming commitments and it would create problems for many people. That kind of behaviour would only destroy my own career, so there is absolutely no reason for me to do it,” he said during the launch and press conference of the upcoming film The Real Mamu.

Explaining the reason behind his transformation, Kodi revealed that his weight loss was entirely work-related. For his role in the film Hak, he successfully shed 20 kilograms within just three months. Prior to that, he had already reduced his weight from 82kg to 70kg for another project, Malaikat Malam.

The actor said filmmakers later requested that he become even leaner for Hak, eventually bringing his weight down to just 62kg. Physical transformations have become increasingly common in the entertainment industry, with actors often pushing their bodies to meet the demands of challenging roles.

Kodi also shared the strict diet plan that helped him achieve the dramatic results. For three months, he completely eliminated sugar from his diet and avoided flour-based foods altogether.

His daily meals mainly consisted of grilled fish, small portions of rice and guava fruit in the evenings. He credited discipline and consistency for helping him reach his target weight.

Looking ahead, Kodi is set to begin filming The Real Mamu on June 25. The movie tells the emotional story of a father willing to sacrifice everything for the happiness and well-being of his family, promising audiences a heartfelt and inspiring journey.
