A 33-year-old man has taken to Facebook to pour out his heartbreak, admitting his marriage is no longer what it used to be. His wife, who is five years older, has grown distant — conversations are short, heart-to-heart talks have vanished, and intimacy has all but disappeared.
He shared how he goes out of his way to win her heart by doing house chores, washing clothes, folding laundry, and even cleaning the house after long, tiring days at work. But instead of appreciation, he says he is often accused of being inattentive and not helping enough with their child.
What hurt him most, however, is the way his wife sets conditions before they can be intimate. “Sometimes she’ll say I need to clean the house or complete certain tasks first. We rarely even sit at the same table for meals anymore. It makes me wonder why I have to go through this. I’ve stopped asking because the excuses are endless,” he confessed.
The man also questioned whether his wife’s age, now nearing 40, had changed her attitude toward their marriage. His post sparked a wave of sympathy online, with many urging him to work things out. But others were blunt, suggesting he walk away if love and respect are no longer there.
“Marriage is supposed to get stronger with age. If she can’t give you time and affection, then maybe it’s better to part ways,” one netizen wrote, while another warned, “If she keeps pushing him away, don’t be surprised if he finds comfort elsewhere.”
