Four men pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court on Friday to charges of raping an 11-year-old girl at a house in Jempol last week.
The accused, Y. Sayrran Kumar, 21, a mechanic; Thineshwaran, 30, a lorry driver; G. Niresh Pillai, 21, a mechanic; and K. Kumar, 40, a transport service owner, entered their pleas before Judge Datin Surita Budin after the charges were read.
According to the charges, the men allegedly raped the girl at a room in Taman Meranti, Bahau, Jempol, on August 23, 2025, between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Additionally, Sayrran Kumar was separately charged with raping the same victim in June 2025 at around 11:30 a.m. in the back seat of a Perodua Myvi in front of Padang Taman ACBE, Jempol. He was also charged with raping another 12-year-old girl at the same house on August 23, 2025, between 11:30 a.m. and 12 noon.
All the accused face charges under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment and caning if convicted.
During the proceedings, Sayrran Kumar and Niresh Pillai were represented by lawyer Revin Kumar; Kumar by S. Virochean; and Thineshwaran by Ramzani Idris. They applied for minimal bail, citing financial and health reasons.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Norazihah Asmuni proposed bail of RM30,000 per charge with additional conditions. The court granted RM30,000 bail for Sayrran Kumar for three charges, RM10,000 each for Kumar and Thineshwaran, and RM5,000 for Niresh Pillai.
All accused were also ordered not to interfere with witnesses, report monthly to the nearest police station, and surrender passports if held. The case is set for mention on October 15 for document submission.
