Woman Left Disappointed After Ordering RM16 ‘Meatball Dish” But Receiving Fishballs Instead

Date:

A Malaysian woman has sparked discussion online after claiming she was served fishballs instead of the meatballs advertised on a restaurant menu.

The incident came to light after the woman shared her experience on X, posting photos of the menu item and the dish she eventually received.

According to the post, the menu featured a meatball dish priced at RM16, accompanied by a photograph showing what appeared to be traditional meatballs served with fries and sauce.

Believing she would be receiving the dish shown in the menu, the woman placed her order.

However, when the food arrived, she was surprised to find a plate of fishballs covered in sauce and served with French fries instead.

The apparent mismatch between the menu image and the actual dish quickly caught the attention of social media users.

Many questioned whether the menu presentation could be considered misleading, with some suggesting the customer lodge a complaint with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

Others reacted with humour, joking that the advertised meatballs had somehow transformed into fishballs before reaching the table.

Several users also urged the woman to reveal the restaurant’s identity to prevent other customers from experiencing similar disappointment.

However, the location and name of the restaurant were not disclosed in the post.

The incident has reignited conversations about accurate menu representations and customer expectations, with many netizens arguing that food served should closely match the descriptions and images used to promote it.

While the restaurant has yet to comment on the matter, the viral post has left many Malaysians amused — and slightly more cautious about trusting menu photos.
