Education Ministry Investigates Year Six Pupil Bullying Claims

Date:

Kementerian Pendidikan (KPM) has launched an internal investigation into allegations involving a Year Six female pupil in Perlis who is believed to have been a victim of bullying, resulting in serious injuries.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the case has also been referred to the relevant authorities to ensure all allegations are thoroughly examined through a transparent and accountable process.

She stressed that the ministry is committed to ensuring that all claims are supported by proper investigations, with both internal and external processes currently underway.

“A significant part of the investigation falls under the jurisdiction of the relevant authorities. We are still investigating the case and it has been referred to the authorities,” she said during a ceremony in Penang on Saturday.

Fadhlina added that the Education Ministry is conducting its own internal probe while cooperating fully with enforcement agencies handling the case.

She also reiterated that firm action will be taken against any party found responsible once investigations are completed.

“We do not compromise on bullying cases and strict action will be taken against anyone found to be involved,” she said.

The case gained public attention after a couple from Chuping, Perlis called for justice for their 12-year-old daughter, claiming she had been subjected to both physical and mental bullying at school earlier this year.

The parents alleged that their daughter, affectionately known as ‘kakak’, had returned from boarding school in February with complaints of back pain, raising further concerns over her condition.
