PH To Focus On Own Strength, Not Opposition Weakness In State Polls

Date:

Pakatan Harapan (PH) has made clear that it will not treat the weaknesses of rival parties as a basis for confidence in securing victory in the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.

PH Communications Director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the coalition must remain focused on strengthening its own election machinery instead of assuming an easy win based on the performance of opponents.

He stressed that a weak opponent does not automatically translate into a strong position for PH, adding that all party machinery must remain fully prepared and disciplined.

Fahmi, who is also Communications Minister, said the directive from party leadership is for PH to build its own strength rather than rely on external political factors.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) in Seri Menanti, he said this approach remains central to the coalition’s election strategy.

He added that PH continuously evaluates the political landscape and adjusts its strategies based on current developments.

According to him, the coalition’s core foundation remains intact, while efforts will be intensified to strengthen campaign machinery and information delivery.

Fahmi also noted that election communication efforts must adapt to changing voter behaviour, as the public now relies heavily on both traditional media and social media platforms for information.

He further warned of the risk of misinformation and fake news during the campaign period, including the misuse of party logos, saying the government is working with the Malaysian Media Council to curb such issues.
