Date:

A Form Two student was killed in a horrific road accident involving a motorcycle, a car and a tanker lorry along Jalan Sungai Siput, Lubok China, in Alor Gajah yesterday.

The victim, Muhammad Muiszudin Mohamad Yusof, 14, was pronounced dead at the scene at about 1.48pm due to severe injuries to his entire body.

Alor Gajah district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Abu Bakar said initial investigations showed the teenager was riding a Yamaha LC motorcycle from his home in Kampung Sungai Siput Batu Alang heading towards Lubok China when the incident occurred.

He said upon reaching the location, the motorcycle is believed to have collided with the rear right side of a Perodua Viva travelling ahead.

The impact caused the victim to be thrown into the opposite lane before he was run over by a tanker lorry travelling from Lubok China towards Simpang Ampat.

The car driver, aged 32, and the lorry driver, aged 43, were not injured in the crash.

Ahmad said the victim’s remains were sent to the Forensic Unit of Alor Gajah Hospital for post-mortem examination before being claimed by family members for burial arrangements.

All three vehicles involved have been detained for further inspection at the Rembia PUSPAKOM centre.

Police also obtained dashcam footage believed to have captured the incident, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Members of the public with information are urged to contact investigating officer Inspector Loh Gia Xao or visit the nearest police station to assist investigations.
