Date:

The Sultan and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang have expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the four victims who lost their lives in a tragic accident on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (KLK) on Sunday.

Their Royal Highnesses, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, said they were deeply saddened upon learning of the devastating crash at Kilometre 43 of the highway.

The accident claimed the lives of four occupants of a Honda City, including a one-year-old child, after the vehicle was crushed by an overturned trailer.

In a statement shared on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, the royal couple prayed for the victims to be showered with Allah’s mercy, forgiven of their sins and placed among the righteous and faithful.

They also conveyed their sympathies to the grieving families, acknowledging the immense pain and hardship they are currently facing following the tragedy.

“May all family members of the victims be granted strength, resilience and patience in enduring this difficult test,” the statement read.

The fatal accident occurred at approximately 4.25pm on Sunday when a trailer overturned and landed on the Honda City carrying the victims.

The driver of the trailer, a 40-year-old man, sustained injuries in the crash and was later arrested after reportedly testing positive for methamphetamine.

The incident has sparked widespread public grief and renewed discussions about road safety along the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway, one of Malaysia’s busiest and most challenging highways.

Police investigations into the fatal collision are ongoing.
