Muda Announces Candidate Switch For Puteri Wangsa

Date:

Muda president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz will not be defending her Puteri Wangsa state seat in the upcoming Johor election, as she is set to contest a parliamentary constituency in the next general election.

In announcing its candidates, Muda confirmed that Rashifa Aljuneid will take over the Puteri Wangsa seat for the July 11 state election, marking a strategic shift for the party as it prepares for the polls.

The party said Puteri Wangsa remains a significant constituency in its political journey, as it was where Muda secured its first electoral victory in 2022, which it described as a defining moment built on community engagement and service.

According to Muda, Rashifa, who serves as Amira’s chief of staff and is part of the Puteri Wangsa service centre team, has played a key role in coordinating programmes and grassroots initiatives in the area.

The party added that many of its efforts benefiting residents in Puteri Wangsa were made possible through Rashifa’s consistent involvement and close coordination with the local service team.

Amira previously won the Puteri Wangsa seat with a 7,114-vote majority during the 2022 state election, establishing a strong foothold for the party in the constituency.

The nomination day for the Johor election is set for June 27, with early voting on July 7 and polling day scheduled for July 11.
