The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) cracked down on 395 gambling premises nationwide during Ops Dadu Mega over the past Saturday and Sunday.

Datuk M. Kumar, Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID), stated that 272 of the targeted premises were operating without valid licenses. Among them, 245 were involved in illegal public lottery sales, 20 offered online gambling, five were unlicensed family entertainment outlets, and two served as gambling call centers.

A total of 328 individuals were detained, comprising 286 men and 42 women, believed to be owners, operators, staff, and participants. Of these, 258 were Malaysian citizens while 70 were foreign nationals. Authorities also seized cash, computers, mobile phones, gambling machines, and various equipment used in illegal operations.

All suspects have been taken to the respective police district headquarters for documentation and further investigation. The cases are being investigated under multiple provisions of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, including Sections 4A(a), 9(1), 4B(a), 4(1)(b), 4(1)(c), and 4(1)(g), as well as Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and relevant state entertainment laws.

The public is urged to report any illegal gambling activities to help authorities take immediate action,” he said.
