Woman Found Blind And Paralysed After Alleged Three-Year Abuse Ordeal

Date:

A woman in Indonesia has suffered a tragic ordeal after allegedly being confined and severely abused by her boyfriend for three years, leaving her blind, paralysed and unable to speak properly due to severe facial injuries.

The victim, identified as YTR, 29, was reportedly found in a critical condition with multiple disabilities, including blindness, paralysis and difficulty speaking after sustaining serious injuries to her mouth.

Her condition was revealed by her younger brother, Syahrul Ulum, who said she left home in 2023 after maintaining contact with a man she met at a concert in Bandung.

“At that time, she was frequently communicating with a man she met at a concert. Not long after that, my sister disappeared without a trace,” he said.

“We tried to find her, but there was no clue about her whereabouts,” he added.

YTR was eventually rescued after a landlord became suspicious of her condition and sought help. She was later taken to hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Doctors confirmed that she suffered severe injuries across her body and required intensive care for both physical and psychological trauma.

Apart from the physical abuse, she is also believed to have lost valuables and suffered financial losses estimated at around 52 million rupiah (approximately RM12,100).

Authorities said she is still undergoing treatment as she recovers from the extent of her injuries.

Police are now actively tracking down the suspect, who is believed to have fled after the incident.
