Dashcam Captures Dramatic Three-Vehicle Crash After Lane Change Attempt

Date:

A dashcam video capturing a three-vehicle collision on a highway has gone viral on social media, sparking discussions about road safety and the importance of checking blind spots before changing lanes.

The 17-second clip, which was shared on the DashCam Malaysia Facebook page, shows a black sedan attempting to move from the middle lane into the fast lane while its right signal indicator was activated.

However, the manoeuvre appeared to place the sedan directly into the path of a Perodua Bezza travelling in the right lane.

Unable to avoid the vehicle in time, the Bezza collided with the sedan before losing control and scraping against the metal road barrier along the central divider.

Moments later, the Bezza veered back into the middle lane as the black sedan continued moving forward.

The footage then showed the sedan crashing into the rear of a Toyota multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) travelling ahead.

The impact caused significant damage to the sedan, with its front bonnet visibly crumpled after it struck both the MPV and the road barrier.

All three vehicles eventually came to a stop on the highway as approaching motorists slowed down while passing the accident scene.

The video quickly gained attention online, with many social media users debating who was at fault and reminding drivers to ensure it is safe to change lanes before making any manoeuvre.

At the time of writing, the exact location and date of the incident have not been independently verified.

The condition of those involved in the crash also remains unknown.
