TikTok Mom and Family Brutally Murdered, Found in Abandoned Truck

Date:

Mexican authorities are investigating the deaths of TikTok influencer Esmeralda Ferrer Garibay, her husband, and their two children, who were found dead inside an abandoned truck in Guadalajara last month.

According to prosecutor Alfonso Gutierrez Santillan, the four bodies, wrapped in plastic, were discovered on August 22 in the San Andrés neighborhood. The children were reported to be 13 and 7 years old. Santillan indicated that evidence suggests the family was killed at the scene.

Three men employed at a nearby mechanic shop, where the truck had been left, were initially arrested in connection with the case but were later released due to insufficient evidence, according to Mexican media outlet El Financiero.

Garibay, known online as Esmeralda FG, began posting on TikTok in 2020 and had amassed around 45,000 followers through lifestyle and travel content. Her final TikTok video, posted on August 7, showed her driving around her ranch. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
