Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has expressed confidence that voters will not be confused despite ongoing tensions between PAS and Bersatu ahead of the Johor state election.
He said the situation remains under control as both parties will not be contesting the same seats in the polls scheduled for July 11.
According to him, the absence of direct clashes between the two parties should help maintain clarity among supporters.
He stressed that what matters most is for all components within PN to continue working as a unified team during the election campaign.
PAS and Bersatu had recently announced their respective candidates, although both parties did so separately.
PAS is contesting 11 seats, while Bersatu is fielding 16 candidates in the upcoming election.
Questions have been raised over the use of the PN logo amid reports of strained relations between the two parties, following PAS’ decision to sever ties with Bersatu.
Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had previously stated that his party is prepared to go all out in the contest and confirmed that Bersatu will still use the PN banner in both Johor and Negeri Sembilan elections.
