Zahid Calls Johor Polls A Unique Political Challenge For BN

Date:

Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition is facing an unusual political situation as it contests against partners within the Unity Government in the Johor state election.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that despite the challenging circumstances, party machinery must remain fully focused on securing victory for BN candidates.

The UMNO president described the situation as a rare political contest where parties that cooperate at the federal level are now competing against each other at state level, requiring a professional and disciplined approach.

He said the contrast between cooperation in Putrajaya and competition in Johor makes the situation more complex than facing traditional political opponents.

However, Ahmad Zahid emphasised that BN’s priority remains winning all its candidates in the state election.

At the same time, he assured that BN’s commitment to the Unity Government at the federal level remains unchanged until the end of the current administration term.

He also called on all BN machinery to intensify campaigning efforts and strengthen voter support to secure a strong performance in Johor.
