Two men suspected of drug-related offences were arrested during Op Tapis Khas conducted in Meradong, police said.
Meradong District Police Chief DSP Tansli Mering said the suspects, aged 52 and 35, were detained by a task force from the district police headquarters.
He said the first arrest involved a 52-year-old man who was stopped at the roadside along Jalan Pedada at about 11.15am.
A search on the suspect led police to discover a transparent plastic packet containing crystalline substances believed to be methamphetamine (syabu) inside a black sling bag.
The man was taken to the Meradong district police headquarters for further investigation and urine screening.
In a separate arrest, a 35-year-old man was detained in the Bintangor area on suspicion of drug abuse and was also brought in for urine testing.
Both suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, police confirmed.
Checks also revealed that neither individual had prior criminal or drug-related records.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(3) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Tansli warned that drug offences carry heavy penalties, including fines and imprisonment, and urged the public to cooperate by reporting drug-related activities to the authorities.
