Five Daycare Workers Under Probe After Alleged Toddler Abuse Case

Date:

Five caregivers at a daycare centre are facing legal action after being accused of abusing toddlers aged between two and three years old in a disturbing series of incidents involving washing machines, bathroom confinement and forced water exposure.

According to NDTV, the alleged abuse took place at a daycare facility operating within the HAL campus of IT company Capgemini, raising serious concerns over child safety within corporate-based childcare services.

Police said the children were allegedly forced to sit inside the drum of a front-loading washing machine, while jet sprays from a toilet bidet were used to force water into their mouths. In other instances, the toddlers were reportedly locked inside bathrooms as a form of punishment whenever they cried.

Video footage purportedly showing the abuse later went viral on social media, prompting widespread public outrage and leading to police reports as well as a formal complaint to the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Following the circulation of the clips, authorities opened an investigation into the five caregivers believed to be involved in the incident. The case has sparked anger among parents who had placed their children at the centre while working within the company premises.

The incident has also raised broader concerns about monitoring standards and safety protocols in childcare facilities operating within corporate environments. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to identify all individuals responsible and determine the full extent of the abuse.
