Man Found Dead With Stab Wound In Thailand Home, Investigation Ongoing

Date:

Police in Pattaya are investigating the death of a 34-year-old British cannabis business owner who was found with a fatal stab wound at a rented luxury home, with his wife currently being questioned.

The victim, identified as British national Thomas David, was discovered inside a bathroom connected to the bedroom at a property in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, on the morning of July 2. He was found lying on blood-stained bedding with a stab wound to the chest and a towel covering his body.

Authorities believe he had been dead for several hours before police arrived at the scene. Officers reported visible bloodstains across multiple areas of the house, along with indications of a struggle, suggesting a violent confrontation may have taken place.

David reportedly ran a cannabis-related business in Thailand and was said to manage a large cannabis farm in Soi Bang Lamung 14. The case came to light after a business associate was unable to reach him and later asked a friend to check on the property.

During the check, the friend reportedly entered the house and discovered the victim’s body in the bathroom, before alerting authorities. Police also found David’s 21-year-old British wife at the scene, where she was reportedly behaving incoherently and showed signs of possible cannabis influence, along with a minor injury to one finger.

The wife, identified as Isabelle Violet, denied any involvement in the death. She claimed her husband had inflicted the injuries on himself and directed officers to a machete found in the kitchen sink, which she said was used in the incident.

Neighbours told investigators the couple had only moved into the property around two weeks earlier and were frequently heard arguing, including a disturbance reported on the night before the discovery.

Police, however, have expressed doubts over her account, noting inconsistencies in her explanation, including the failure to immediately contact emergency services after allegedly discovering her injured husband.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and conduct further questioning.
