Petrol Station Shop Destroyed In Early Morning Fire

Date:

A fire broke out at a petrol station along Jalan Sultan Abdullah here early Thursday morning, with firefighters taking nearly an hour to fully extinguish the blaze.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said the fire only affected a shop located inside the petrol station premises and did not involve any casualties.

He said the shop was completely destroyed in the incident, with firefighters receiving an emergency call at 3.54am before a team from the Kuantan Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene, located about four kilometres away.

The firefighting operation was carried out using three hose lines supplied by the water tank from the fire engine. Firefighters worked to bring the situation under control and prevent the flames from spreading to other parts of the petrol station.

The operation was also assisted by personnel and equipment from the Indera Mahkota Fire and Rescue Station. Such swift responses are crucial in petrol station fires due to the presence of flammable materials that can increase risks during emergency situations.

Zulfadli added that the cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still being investigated. Authorities will continue their assessment to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
