The special aircraft carrying Anutin and his wife Thananon Charnvirakul landed at the Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), at 11.11am.

They were welcomed by Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, along with Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is serving as the accompanying minister throughout the visit.

Upon arrival, Anutin inspected a guard of honour comprising 34 officers and personnel from the First Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment, led by Major Nur Addeen Mustaza.

This marks Anutin’s first visit to Malaysia since he was reappointed as Thailand’s Prime Minister in March 2026. The visit aims to further strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation between both countries in areas of mutual interest.

According to Wisma Putra, Anutin is scheduled to hold a meeting with Anwar at Perdana Putra, where both leaders are expected to review the progress of Malaysia-Thailand relations.

The two leaders are also expected to witness the signing and exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on agricultural cooperation, reflecting both countries’ commitment to strengthening collaboration in the sector.

Anwar will later host a luncheon in honour of Anutin and his delegation at Kompleks Seri Perdana.

The two prime ministers are scheduled to visit Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, tomorrow to officiate the opening of a road linking the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex in Malaysia with the Sadao Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex in Thailand.

For the January to March 2026 period, bilateral trade between Malaysia and Thailand stood at RM31.33 billion (US$7.90 billion), compared with RM27.35 billion (US$6.15 billion) recorded during the same period in 2025.
