Luxury Car Owners In Kelantan Found With Road Tax Expired Up To 3 Years

Date:

The Kelantan Road Transport Department (JPJ) has revealed that some luxury vehicle owners failed to renew their Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), with several cases involving road tax that had expired for up to three years.

Kelantan JPJ director Mohd Misuari Abdullah said most luxury vehicles detected during Ops Luxury had expired road tax periods of more than three months.

“So far, 100 luxury vehicles have been identified committing various offences since the operation began in March.

“The majority of cases involved expired LKM, while a smaller number involved expired driving licences,” he said during a press conference on Thursday.

Mohd Misuari was speaking after attending Ops Khas Pemandu Warga Asing (PeWA) and an integrated drug operation targeting commercial vehicles at the JPJ Laloh Enforcement Station.

He said the operation, which started in March, has continued to uncover more vehicles failing to comply with road regulations.

Among the luxury vehicles most frequently found with offences were Toyota Alphard, Toyota Vellfire, BMW and Mercedes-Benz models.

The operation also detected two Porsche vehicles that failed to comply with the required regulations.
