Ismail Sabri’s RM169M Case: Prosecutors Still Yet to Decide on Charges

Date:

The Deputy Public Prosecutor has yet to decide whether to press charges in connection with the forfeiture of over RM169 million in cash seized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the issue of prosecution has been handed over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.

“The Deputy Public Prosecutor has not made any decision to charge any party in this case. We do not set any timeline, as the Deputy Public Prosecutor is an independent body, while MACC’s role is solely to conduct investigations,” he said during a press conference today.
