Driver Escapes Unhurt As Gravel Lorry Goes Up In Flames

A tipper lorry carrying a load of gravel caught fire along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) heading towards Ulu Klang here on Wednesday.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 9.39am.

He said six firefighters from the Ampang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), along with a fire engine, were dispatched to the scene located about five kilometres away.

Upon arrival around eight minutes later, firefighters found the blaze had involved the front section of the tipper lorry.

Ashrul Riezal said approximately 40 per cent of the vehicle was damaged in the incident, while the fire was successfully brought under control at 9.55am.

“No casualties were reported in the incident.

“Firefighters are currently conducting inspection and overhaul works to ensure the area is safe,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
