Man Injured After Vehicle Skids Into Drain In Bau

A 54-year-old man was injured after the vehicle he was driving skidded off the road and ended up in a drain near Kampung Keranji early this morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 4.10am before a team from the Kota Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the location.

A Bomba spokesperson said the accident involved a vehicle that lost control before entering a drain, leaving the male driver injured.

Firefighters used Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment to remove the victim from the vehicle and moved him to a safer area.

The victim was given initial treatment at the scene before being handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) medical team for further action.

The operation was brought under control at 4.30am and fully concluded at 4.55am after the area was confirmed safe.

The firefighters then returned to the station after completing the rescue operation.
