Eight secondary school students have been remanded for two days to assist police investigations into a brawl allegedly linked to the circulation of AI-generated sexual videos and images.
The boys, aged between 13 and 14, were arrested on Tuesday after footage of the fight went viral on social media on July 13.
Magistrate Dayang Aidaku Amira Aminuddin granted the two-day remand order on Wednesday following an application by investigating officer Inspector Nurul Amira Razali, who had initially requested a four-day remand.
The Form One and Form Two students are being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with weapons.
According to police, the viral video showed a group of students involved in a fight with a member of the public, who allegedly used a motorcycle helmet as a weapon during the altercation.
The incident reportedly occurred on the evening of July 10 at a shoplot along Jalan Apas.
Police said no injuries were reported, as members of the public intervened and managed to stop the fight.
Investigators also conducted checks on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram but found no evidence of the alleged AI-generated sexual videos or images believed to have triggered the incident.
