Perikatan Nasional (PN) will assist Barisan Nasional (BN) during the campaign period for the Negri Sembilan state election, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said.
Hadi said BN would also extend similar support to PN throughout the two-week campaign period, describing the cooperation between both coalitions as a positive development.
He said the collaboration reflected a strong spirit of understanding between the parties, with the main focus being on ensuring Malay-Muslim leadership in Negri Sembilan.
“We will support each other during the campaign. They will campaign in our areas, and we will campaign in theirs,” he told reporters at the Jempol district administration complex after the nomination process for the Serting state seat.
When asked whether the cooperation between PN and BN would be formalised in the future, Hadi said the matter would be assessed gradually based on developments.
He said both sides had agreed from the beginning not to rush into any decision and would continue observing the situation over time.
“We will see how the outcome unfolds,” he said.
Earlier, Hadi, together with several PN leaders including PN election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, accompanied the coalition’s candidate for the Serting state seat, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa, during the nomination process.
