Police Receive Report Over Verbal Dispute During Negeri Sembilan Nomination Day

Date:

The Negeri Sembilan police have received a report regarding an alleged election-related offence believed to have occurred during the nomination day process yesterday involving a verbal dispute between supporters of a political party.

Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said, however, that no investigation paper has been opened in relation to the incident.

He said police are continuing to monitor all political activities throughout the state to ensure they are conducted in accordance with the law and do not disrupt public safety and order.

Meanwhile, Alzafny said the police have received 19 applications for permits to hold political talks and campaign-related activities.

He added that all 19 applications had been approved after meeting the required conditions set by the authorities.

“All programmes and political activities that have been organised will be monitored by the police to ensure they comply with legal requirements while maintaining public safety and peace,” he said in a statement today.

The Negeri Sembilan state election campaign period is expected to see various political parties carrying out activities ahead of polling day.
