Social media personalities Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been confirmed arrested in Miami, United States, following the announcement of additional charges against them by authorities in the United Kingdom.
According to the BBC, the United Kingdom’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Andrew faces seven additional rape charges, along with other allegations linked to offences including human trafficking for sexual exploitation and the distribution of child pornography.
Tristan, meanwhile, faces one charge of sexual assault, two rape charges, and three charges related to arranging or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
CPS Special Crime Division head Malcolm McHaffie said the decision to file the additional charges was made after prosecutors received another evidence file from Bedfordshire Police.
He said the latest development brings the number of alleged victims involved in the case to seven, with the alleged offences said to have taken place between July 2010 and August 2017.
However, the Tate brothers have previously denied all allegations of wrongdoing made against them.
The US Marshals Service confirmed to the BBC that both brothers had been detained, while a US Department of Justice spokesperson said the arrests were carried out as part of extradition proceedings.
The CPS had earlier stated that prosecutors would seek the extradition of both brothers to the UK to face the charges.
In May 2025, prosecutors confirmed that Andrew, 39, and Tristan, 37, were set to face a total of 21 charges in the UK.
