An elderly man was found dead after his body was discovered floating in Tasik Tun Perak, Taman Jati Batu 17, this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said a team from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the location after receiving an emergency call at about 7.55am.
He said the operation commander confirmed that the victim, a Chinese man believed to be in his 60s, was found floating in the lake.
“Firefighters managed to retrieve the victim from the water before he was pronounced dead by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH),” he said in a statement today.
Ashrul Riezal said the victim’s remains were later handed over to MOH for further action.
He added that investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident.
