Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested after police seized various types of drugs worth an estimated RM180,000 during an operation in Sungai Bakau, Seberang Perai Selatan, on Wednesday night.
Seberang Perai Selatan police chief Superintendent Jay January Siowou said the suspects, comprising two men and one woman aged between 34 and 63, were arrested by officers from the Sungai Acheh Police Station.
A search of the suspects’ Toyota Alphard multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) uncovered several types of drugs, including approximately 1,700g of Eramin 5, 450g of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) powder, 8g of ketamine and 1g of heroin.
Further investigations revealed that all three suspects have previous records for drug-related offences.
Preliminary urine screening also found that the suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, Jay said in a statement on Thursday.
The case is being investigated under Sections 39B, 39A(1), 12(3) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
