Police have arrested a local man to assist investigations into the alleged removal of political party flags in Taman Dusun Setia, Seremban.
Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the suspect was detained following a police report lodged with the Seremban District Police Headquarters (IPD) at about 2.45am yesterday.
He said preliminary investigations found that the suspect was believed to have removed political party flags installed along the roadside, with the incident captured on video and later circulated widely on social media.
The footage prompted police to launch an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those involved.
Alzafny said further investigations are ongoing, including recording statements from witnesses and conducting a forensic analysis of the viral video.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief causing damage.
