Fatal Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Teenagers Dead In Kemaman

Two teenage boys, including a student with learning disabilities, were killed after the motorcycles they were riding were believed to have collided at Jalan Felda Cherul-Bukit Sagu in Kemaman.

The victims, identified as Muhammad Shafiq Hakimi Mohd Nazri and Muhammad Hafiey Rifqey Mohd Mahazan, both aged 16, died at the scene after sustaining serious head injuries in the accident at about 6.45pm.

Muhammad Shafiq Hakimi, who had learning difficulties, was a student under the Community Rehabilitation Programme (PDK) Felda Cherul, while Muhammad Hafiey Rifqey was a Form Four student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Cherul.

Kemaman District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Razi Rosli said initial investigations found that Muhammad Shafiq Hakimi was travelling towards Bukit Sagu, Kuantan, Pahang, while Muhammad Hafiey Rifqey was heading towards Felda Cherul when the crash occurred.

He said the accident was believed to have happened when the Modenas Kriss motorcycle ridden by Muhammad Hafiey Rifqey suddenly lost control before entering the opposite lane.

“The motorcycle then collided with a Honda Wave motorcycle ridden by Muhammad Shafiq Hakimi,” he said.

Mohd Razi said the collision caused both victims to fall onto the road, resulting in fatal injuries.

Police are continuing investigations to determine the actual cause of the acciden
