PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar has called on voters in Negeri Sembilan to fulfil their civic duty by casting their ballots in tomorrow’s state election and giving their support to Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates.
She said continued backing for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is defending the Linggi state seat, is important to ensure the continuity of development initiatives and ongoing progress in the state.
“We need the support of everyone. I understand that this is one of the most closely contested elections, and ultimately the decision lies in the hands of the people of Negeri Sembilan,” she told reporters after visiting the family of a Japanese Encephalitis (JE) patient during the Ziarah Kasih programme with PH Chuah candidate Datuk Yew Boon Lye in Bukit Pelandok on Friday.
Nurul Izzah said PH is continuing to intensify its campaign efforts in Chuah despite the constituency being regarded as one of the coalition’s strongholds, stressing that no seat should be taken for granted.
She also reminded voters not to be swayed by allegations or misinformation circulated during the campaign period, urging them instead to assess candidates based on their track record and service to the community.
According to her, Aminuddin has addressed various accusations levelled against him while remaining focused on issues affecting the people and the state.
“When there is healthy competition, it also provides an opportunity to highlight the achievements and performance of states governed by PH,” she said.
The Chuah state seat will see a straight fight between PH candidate Datuk Yew Boon Lye and Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Ah Hau.
A total of 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, are eligible to cast their ballots on Saturday to elect representatives for all 36 Negeri Sembilan state assembly seats.
PH is contesting all 36 seats, while BN is fielding 25 candidates, Bersatu 24, Perikatan Nasional (PN) 11, and four Independent candidates are also in the race. Berjasa, Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI) and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) are each contesting one seat.
