Aminuddin Confident PH Can Surpass 19 Seats In Negeri Sembilan

Date:

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun remains confident that Pakatan Harapan (PH) can secure more than 19 seats in the Negeri Sembilan 16th State Election based on feedback from the coalition’s election machinery across all contested constituencies.

He said the confidence was not affected by various last-minute election analyses and predictions made by different parties throughout the campaign period.

“We must be confident of surpassing 19 seats. Insya-Allah, I remained confident after reviewing the situation in all areas we contested until late last night.

“The machinery on the ground has shown good potential and I believe they are not discouraged despite various speculations,” he said after casting his vote at Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) Raja Melewar Campus here this morning.

The Negeri Sembilan PH chairman was seen queuing at Polling Stream 2 while waiting for his turn to vote and taking the opportunity to greet members of the public at the polling centre.

Aminuddin said election predictions and analyses made by certain parties were only based on assessments from a distance and did not necessarily reflect the situation on the ground.

“The analyses are usually made from the table and not through direct engagement with voters. I believe we can still surpass 19 seats,” he said.

The Sikamat state constituency saw a three-cornered contest involving PH candidate Nor Azman, former Melaka Deputy Police Chief Datuk Razali Abu Samah from Perikatan Nasional (PN), and Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.

In the 2023 state election, Aminuddin retained the Sikamat seat, which he has held since 2015, with a majority of 2,662 votes after securing 12,730 votes against candidates from PN and two independents.
