A man is feared to have drowned while bathing with his family at a river in Kampung Pulau Kudat, Kuala Berang, on Saturday morning.
Kuala Berang Fire and Rescue Station Operations Commander PBK I Mohd Zamri Muda said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at about 9.50am.
Initial information indicated that the victim, believed to be a man in his 40s, went missing while bathing in the river, while three other individuals who were with him managed to escape safely.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation was immediately launched involving firefighters from the Kuala Berang Fire and Rescue Station, with assistance from the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) from Kuala Terengganu.
Mohd Zamri said the operation was still ongoing as rescuers continued efforts to locate the victim.
