PM Anwar Congratulates BN, Vows Continued Support For Negeri Sembilan

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged that the Federal Government will continue to support and work closely with Negeri Sembilan despite Pakatan Harapan (PH) losing power in the state following the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.

He said the commitment reflects the government’s responsibility to safeguard the welfare of the people and ensure the state’s continued development and prosperity, regardless of the election outcome.

Congratulating Barisan Nasional (BN) on securing the mandate from the people of Negeri Sembilan, Anwar also expressed his appreciation to voters for participating in the democratic process.

“I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to the people of Negeri Sembilan who placed their trust in Pakatan Harapan and Datuk Seri Utama Aminuddin Harun, who served as Menteri Besar for the past eight years,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Based on the unofficial election results, BN secured 18 seats in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN), while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won seven seats. PH, meanwhile, captured 11 seats, ending its administration of the state.

Anwar said PH had left behind a strong legacy after two terms in office, citing good governance, political stability and development initiatives that benefited the people of Negeri Sembilan.

He also expressed hope that the new state administration would continue to build on the achievements of the previous government to ensure the state’s progress and long-term prosperity.

The Prime Minister reiterated that cooperation between the Federal Government and the new state administration would continue in the interest of the people, emphasising that development and public welfare remain the nation’s top priorities regardless of political differences.
