Police are investigating an incident in which several vehicles were sprayed with red paint while parked outside the parking area of the Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station, in what is believed to be an act of vandalism.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said a police report was lodged at approximately 8.29pm on Monday by a 48-year-old local woman employed in the private sector.
According to Naazron, the woman had parked her Perodua Myvi outside the MRT parking area at around 6am before taking the train to work.
“When she returned at about 6pm, she discovered red paint sprayed on the right-side window of her vehicle,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
Further inspections revealed that several other vehicles parked in the same area had also been sprayed with red paint, which police believe was carried out by unknown individuals.
So far, police have received one report related to the incident and are conducting further investigations to identify those responsible.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief causing damage.
Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact investigating officer Sergeant Major Norhafdzeli Ismail at 010-3755508, the Kajang District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-8911 4222, or visit the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
