Suspected Syabu Found During Limbang Police Operation

Police arrested a man after he was allegedly found in possession of suspected syabu during an operation along Lorong Merdeka here on Monday.

Limbang district police chief Superintendent Parum Niot said the operation was carried out by officers and personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Limbang District Police Headquarters (IPD).

He said a search of the suspect led to the discovery of a transparent plastic packet containing a substance believed to be syabu weighing 0.40 gramme.

“The suspect was arrested and taken to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division at Limbang IPD for further action and investigation,” he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Parum said police would take firm action against individuals involved in drug possession, trafficking or abuse in the district.

He also urged members of the public to stay away from drug-related activities and assist authorities by providing information on suspected drug offences and other criminal activities.
