A woman riding a shared electric scooter was trapped underneath an SUV after being involved in a road accident in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
The incident reportedly happened on Yongfeng Road in Qionglai when the woman was riding along the road and was suddenly struck by the SUV.
The impact knocked her off the scooter and left her trapped beneath the vehicle, prompting nearby pedestrians and business operators to rush over to help.
According to a local resident identified as Li, more than 10 people gathered at the scene and worked together to lift the SUV. Their combined effort eventually created enough space for the woman to escape from underneath the vehicle on her own.
Emergency services and traffic police arrived shortly after the incident. The woman was found with visible abrasions on her leg and was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
The quick response from members of the public helped free the woman before emergency personnel arrived, with the dramatic rescue highlighting how bystanders can play a crucial role during emergencies.
