Fatal Night Crash Claims Two Cyclists

Two cyclists were killed after they were struck by a vehicle along Jalan Persiaran Selatan in Putrajaya on Thursday night.

The crash occurred at about 10.15pm at KM9.0 of the road and involved a vehicle driven by a Malaysian man in his 40s and two male cyclists, aged in their 30s and 40s.

Putrajaya police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed said preliminary investigations showed the vehicle had moved from the middle lane into the left lane before colliding with both cyclists.

The impact left the two cyclists with severe injuries to the face and head. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing investigations into the fatal crash under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Aidi Sham urged anyone who witnessed the accident or has information that could assist investigators to contact the Putrajaya traffic police station at 03-8886 2138 or approach the nearest police station.
