Firefighters were called into action after a fire swept through about 0.4 hectares of forested land near Bandar Puchong Jaya in the early hours of Tuesday.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 2.35am concerning a fire near a restaurant along Jalan Helang 13.
A team from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station reached the location just seven minutes later at 2.42am and found flames spreading across an estimated 0.4ha of vegetation.
A fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle were sent to the scene to assist with the operation.
Firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the blaze using a 200-foot hose line supported by two auxiliary hose lines. Water was supplied directly from the fire engine’s tank throughout the operation.
The fire was brought under control after firefighters carried out efforts to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding areas.
The cause of the incident has not been disclosed at this stage, while further details were not immediately available.
