A pregnant woman experienced breathing difficulties after escaping a fire that damaged two single-storey terrace houses in Taman Tenaga early today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 12.23am regarding the blaze at Jalan Tenaga 11.
Firefighters reached the location eight minutes later and found two 25-by-60-foot terrace houses engulfed in flames.
Ashrul Riezal said the first house sustained about 60 per cent damage, while the second was affected by around five per cent.
The pregnant woman managed to get out of the house without assistance but experienced breathing difficulties after escaping. She was given initial treatment by Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel at the scene.
Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control at 12.49am, preventing further spread to nearby properties.
Six personnel from the Bangi Fire and Rescue Station, with assistance from colleagues from the Kajang station, were involved in the operation. A Light Fire Rescue Tender, Fire Rescue Tender and EMRS vehicle were also deployed.
