106 Motorcycles Seized, Two Arrested In Kuching Road Bully Operation

Date:

Police seized 106 motorcycles and arrested two local men aged between 17 and 21 during an anti-road bully operation along Lebuhraya Pehin Sri Adenan Satem early Sunday morning.

Kuching district police chief Assistant Commissioner Alexson Naga Chabu said the two men were detained for allegedly committing offences under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Two motorcycles were also seized in connection with the offences.

The operation, conducted by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Kuching District Police Headquarters, began at 11pm on Saturday and continued until 6am on Sunday.

Five senior police officers and 32 personnel were involved in the operation, which focused on curbing illegal street racing and dangerous riding activities in the area.

“Throughout the operation, a total of 192 individuals and 167 vehicles were inspected.

“Some 106 motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987, while 290 summonses were issued for various traffic offences,” Alexson said in a statement on Sunday.

Police also reminded motorists and riders to comply with road laws and avoid participating in illegal street racing or road bully activities.

Alexson urged vehicle owners not to alter the original structure or specifications of their vehicles, stressing that such modifications could compromise road safety and lead to enforcement action.
