The body of an unidentified man was found in a drain at Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh on Saturday, with police suspecting that he may have been murdered.

Sungai Buloh district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said police were alerted by members of the public about the discovery.

“Acting on the information, police rushed to the location and recovered the body with assistance from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).

“The body was then taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which found indications of criminal involvement,” he said in a statement on Monday.

Mohd Hafiz said initial checks found that the deceased was not carrying any identification documents, and his identity has yet to be established.

He described the man as having a fair complexion, being bald, about 170cm tall and weighing approximately 50kg.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, while police are working to identify the deceased and track down those responsible.

Members of the public who have information about the incident, or have a family member reported missing who matches the description of the victim, are urged to contact investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Mohd Reezal Mohammad @ Mohd Zain at 013-3479809.
