Another Malaysian Pilot Arrested In RM45 Million Jakarta Drug Syndicate Probe

Date:

Police have arrested another Malaysian pilot believed to be linked to a drug-smuggling syndicate involving a Malaysian second officer detained in Jakarta with drugs worth about RM45 million.

The latest suspect, a Malaysian man in his 30s, was arrested in the Klang Valley two days ago, bringing the total number of people detained in Malaysia over the case to seven.

Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect worked for a different airline from the second officer.

“Investigations revealed that the second pilot was allegedly involved in the flow of cash between the syndicate and the second officer,” he told reporters today.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover the suspected network and the roles played by those arrested.
