KL Flash Floods Trigger 3km Traffic Jam From Zoo Negara To KL East Mall

Date:

Heavy rain triggered flash floods around Taman Melawati this afternoon, causing traffic congestion stretching about 3km along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).

Astro Radio Traffic reported at 4.35pm that traffic was crawling from Zoo Negara towards KL East Mall following reports of flash floods near Taman Melawati.

“MRR2: There is a 3km congestion from Zoo Negara to KL East Mall following reports of flash floods near Taman Melawati,” it said in an update.

The flooding was also highlighted by a Threads user, Redzall, who uploaded a video showing water inundating an intersection near a school in the Taman Melawati area.

Several vehicles could be seen unable to continue their journey and were believed to have been stranded in the floodwaters.

Motorists travelling through the area are advised to exercise caution and expect delays.
