Concrete culvert pipe blocks were scattered across the road after two trailer lorries collided at the Taman Cantik traffic light junction here today.
The crash, which occurred at about 10.05am, involved a lorry carrying the concrete culvert blocks and another trailer lorry that was empty.
Both drivers were injured in the collision.
Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Norizman Shah Azman said the 47-year-old driver of the lorry carrying the culvert blocks was trapped in the cabin.
“He suffered injuries to his right leg and left knee, while the 49-year-old driver of the other lorry sustained minor injuries,” he said in a statement.
Firefighters used specialised rescue equipment to free the trapped driver from the cabin.
Both victims were subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
