Anwar Chairs MA63 Talks With Hajiji, Abang Johari In Sabah

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Friday morning to chair the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Implementation Action Council meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Anwar arrived at SICC at 8.30am, accompanied by Hajiji, before heading to the meeting hall to begin discussions.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to perform Friday prayers with residents at Masjid Jamek Kampung Likas at noon.

After the prayers, Anwar is scheduled to visit the temporary relief centre housing victims of the Kampung Numbak fire at the Damai Multipurpose Hall at 1.50pm.

The visit is aimed at assessing the condition and welfare of residents affected by the fire.

In the Aug 30 incident, around 200 stilt houses in the village were destroyed by fire, with three victims found burnt to death.

In a Facebook post last night, Anwar described Sabah and Sarawak as loyal partners in the Unity Government who continue to work together to strengthen national stability and foster greater unity and solidarity between the regions.

“Insya-Allah, the unity and trust we have built will continue to be a source of strength in advancing the development agenda and ensuring the well-being of all Malaysians,” he said.
